Putting the Trail Plan into Action

Having welcomed and endorsed the Implementation Plan completed by Inspiring Place, the Wagga Rail Trail Committee has already started putting into action the major recommendations of the Plan.

The three priority actions on which the Committee are currently working are:

Action 1:  Prepare a Business Case of the trail as the basis for future funding applications

Action 2: Seek endorsement of the Strategic Directions and Implementation Plan by Wagga Wagga City Council and to form a Council:Community partnership to build the trail

Action 3:  Seek the approval of the NSW Parliament to close the railway line between Wagga and Ladysmith to allow the development of a shared recreation trail.

We look forward to making some major progress on these actions in early 2018 and from there we hope to work with Council to seek funding for trail construction.
